Balloon Chickens

Happy Monday Sweet Friends.
I hope your weekend was fabulous.  Mine was spent resting and making new projects that I will be sharing soon.  Tonight I am sharing some images I colored using some fabulous new images by artist and my friend Annable Haines.  All these adorable chickens just  make me smile.

The first image is a card and all the rest are altered playing cards and boy were those fun to do.  Quick and simple and I think I am a little addicted to making them.

I used Copics to color them and used a variety of stencils to create the backgrounds.  I am addicted to stencils too.  LOL!!!

You can find all these balloon chickens in a set in Annabel's Etsy Shop.  The links is below.

Peony Bouquet

Update:  June 2 - I just found out I won an honorable mention from Mitzi Sato-Wiuff owner of Stamps by Aurora Wings.  Thanks so much Mitzi.

Happy Monday My Sweet Friends
It's Memorial Day here in the U.S. and a day of reflection in honor of those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.  They are true heroes.

Peonies are one of my most favorite flowers.  I used a digital image from very talented artist Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.  I colored it with Copics and am pretty happy with the results.  I did color the inside of the flower with a goldish yellow however you can't see that in this photo.  I decided it was time to jump into the deep end and just have fun.  It was a liberating experience and I am so eager to keep learning and grow stronger in my artistic skills.
I used the following Copic colors:
G05, 07, 09 RV21, 23, 25, 29 Y32, 35, 38
You can find this gorgeous image and so many other's at Mitzi's Etsy Shop and here are the links:

Happy Thursday My Sweet Friends
It's been a while since my last post - my fibromyalgia pain into full gear and I spent a lot of time in bed.  I am feeling a little better and have really missed my Art time.  I hope you are all doing well and have had time to do a lot of creating.

I am really stepping out of my comfort zone today in sharing this photo. My sister Dana surprised me with a set of watercolor pens yesterday and I was beyond thrilled. I have always wanted to watercolor but have always been a little intimidated by it all. Yesterday I decided to just jump in and have fun - and I was on a natural high. It took four do-overs but I wasn't about it give up.
I still want to add some color to the background - just not sure what I want to do yet. I have so much to learn and so looking forward to the journey. I have started by using digital images but my ultimate goal is to be able to draw my own images as well as using watercolors.
Thanks so much for stopping by - I really app…

Re-Cycled Swiffer Dusters Box

Happy Sunday Sweet Friends
I hope your weekend has been fabulous.  Mine has definitely been interesting - and I actually felt like making a new project today.  As you can tell from the photos below I had fun re-cycling a Swifter Duster's Box.  It all started when I went through a few craft boxes yesterday from our recent move.  I was using this Swifter Duster box as a trash can.  As you can see - I have already taken the box apart.  I was having so much fun using this box as a trash can I decided to make it a pretty one and keep it.

After taking the box apart I decided to use the box with the outside turned inward.   I cut all the pieces to cover the box and used super tacky tape for added strength.  I put the box back together again and used Washi Tape as edging for the top and bottom.  I added the butterfly since it went so well with the quote on the cardstock.

It may sound weird but I absolutely love this small trash can and it actually fits perfectly on my craft table.  I jus…
